Whether you're buying your first quad or just adding another for the wife or children, buying a used quad can do a lot of sense, especially in comparison with the price of a new one. Here are 13 tips to use in evaluating a used ATV. Used ATV can be a big business, but be careful. Some owners are looking for a way to get rid of a lemon or a quad that will be needed major repairs.

Follow these tips to ensure that you are not to be loaded with it!

Take the ATV for a spin. Is beginning to atv or slow? Try a few hard stops. Do brakes work properly? Is it well managed? See and hear anything out of place.

Does the exhaust spark arrestor is in place? Many owners to eliminate these. However, the National Forest and other public roads require spark suppressor be in place. Owners without them can be fined and prevented from traveling in these places.

And the body? Is there any harm? Broken or otherwise damaged body parts will need replacing.
